May 2026

Network Opportunities.

Bringing you the latest merger and acquisition opportunities.

As May gets underway, UK SMEs are facing a sharper margin squeeze despite signs of resilience in wider business activity. April’s UK Composite PMI moved back into expansion, but the same survey pointed to renewed inflation pressure, with higher fuel, transport and input costs feeding through to selling prices.

Acquirers are likely to remain cautious where recent cost increases have not yet flowed through the numbers. Earn-outs, deferred consideration and tighter completion mechanisms may help bridge valuation gaps. Against that backdrop, adviser-led origination remains important, particularly for resilient SMEs with pricing power and credible growth stories.

Advisors and deal parties alike will be hoping May brings a momentum which will help deals complete before the summer slowdown. Building a strong pipeline is always front of mind so do get in touch if you can match up with any of the listed opportunities.
