Executive Team
Kirsty is a chartered accountant and has advised SME clients on corporate finance matters & transactions for around 25 years, including having set up several corporate finance departments for regional firms of accountants, founding a training and consultancy practice presenting corporate finance courses to SME advisors, lawyers, banks and directors, before creating the concept of The Corporate Finance Network in 2007. Respected as a thought-leader within her profession, Kirsty is regularly required to provide opinion to the national media in respect of issues around business and finance, having been recently published in The Times, The Telegraph, The Financial Times and various nationwide accountancy and business publications and interviewed on The One Show and BBC Look North. She was named as one to watch in ‘The Crowd behind the Crowd’ and she has been a volunteer mentor for Virgin Startups, Northern Regional Manager for Angels Den and shared her expertise in the RBS/Natwest initiative E-spark, at Leeds Beckett University and at national industry events Accountex & Business Startups. In creating and leading the crowdfunding campaign “Calderdale Rising” on behalf of Calderdale Community Foundation for Calderdale, she supported over 100 businesses in the Calder Valley after the floods of Boxing Day 2015, raising funds and unlocking further match funding from the UK government. These funds ensured these businesses could recover and re-open and the campaign was runner-up in the ‘turnaround’ category of the Yorkshire Post Business Awards in November 2016. She has been on various local and national committees of ICAEW and assisted ICAEW and BPP on developing and running the first courses of the Advanced Diploma in Corporate Finance, offering some advice from an industry perspective. As a Young Enterprise voluntary advisor her team went on to win the local finals. She has been involved in Scouting as a Leader and later as Group Chairman for almost 30 years. She now analyses the market, shares the opportunities for the industry, creating the tools necessary for accountants to develop this work with their clients and is a regular commentator in the media. She also worked with the funding and capital advisory platform, Capitalise.com as their Accountant-in-Residence. Examples of Kirsty's work can be found here.Executive Team
