Dyke Yaxley, a member firm of The Corporate Finance Network with offices in Shropshire and the United States, has completed an independent valuation for a business in the energy sector.

The referral came from an accountancy firm who were conflicted due to being the auditors of the company.  The purpose of the engagement was to provide an independent valuation for growth shares to support the issuing of EMI (Enterprise Management Incentive) options to new shareholders.

The valuation work was led by Sarah Hartshorn, who completed the valuation and Alan Jebb, who advised on the EMI aspects. Once the valuation was completed, they prepared and submitted the EMI application to HMRC.

The independent valuation was successfully used by the client to grant EMI options and growth shares to the management team, supporting the retention of key staff and aligning management incentives with the future growth of the business.
