Albert Goodman, a member of the Corporate Finance Network based in South West England with six offices, has advised on the trade sale of a furniture manufacturing business, with Neil Hutchings leading the assignment.

The sale arose suddenly following a deterioration in the health of the main partner, who was no longer able to work in the business. Albert Goodman carried out a full marketing exercise, attended viewings and negotiated with potential buyers, while also supporting the vendors through a particularly difficult period compounded by personal issues. Through that process, consideration achieved was double what had been offered in the early stages of the sales process, resulting in a very happy client.

The transaction completed successfully, enabling the vendors to exit the business with sufficient cash to focus on recovering from health issues. Beyond the consideration achieved, the sale also removed stress from the remaining partner, with the vendors satisfied that the business will go from strength to strength in their absence.
