Albert Goodman, a member of The Corporate Finance Network based in the South West of England with six offices, has advised on the successful sale of its client in the construction sector.

Alongside Kitson Boyce LLP, Albert Goodman, led by Neil Hutchings were initially tasked with providing a valuation of the company, this developing into considering and advising on exit options and exit strategy, before ultimately being entrusted with the marketing and sale of the business in a lead advisory capacity.

A particular challenge they overcame was the perceived association the business has with the construction sector due to ‘construction’ being featured in its name and the challenges and risks that are typical within this sector. Through clear communication with potential buyers, they emphasised that the company suffered none of the hallmark drawbacks of the construction sector, and instead presented some excellent opportunities leading to some excellent offers with a variety of deal structures to consider.

The team provided advisory services until the sales completion, negotiating a great outcome for the client in terms of equity adjustments, and further supporting the creation of the Share Purchase Agreement enabling a straightforward and easy translation process.
