The CFN has today launched the first of its new series of events for Autumn 2019, Power Packs. A unique event where marketing teams and technical teams come together to plan the most effective strategy to grow the corporate finance service line.

These will be the only events in the accounting profession where accountancy partner/directors put their marketing and business development support team front & centre and provide them with a peer group of like-minded professionals.

Corporate Finance is unlike many other traditional accountancy services, in that it is transactional.  Assignments can last from just a few weeks to a couple of years, but rarely longer.  And, whilst we have regular audit, accounts and tax clients who typically use our services for many years, corporate finance fees don’t come so easily!

Firms who are advising owner-managed businesses on company sales, purchases and their fundraising requirements need to be educating their clients, mentoring them and are often creating deals completely from scratch.  Lead generation is key to a healthy pipeline and a steadily increasing income stream from corporate finance services.

And that takes teamwork!  The whole firm needs to be aligned with the same goal and understand what is required to build this as a valuable, commercial service for your clients.  Marketing and business development activities are crucially important, and therefore these “Power Pack” events bring together those providing that resource and also their technical teams.  The aim is for all to gain new ideas, share successes and formulate your own strategy for growing your corporate finance service offering to SME businesses in your area.
