North Yorkshire-based accountancy firm Hunter Gee Holroyd (HGH), has advised the owners of a Dental Practice on a complicated sale to two private dentists.
Mark Grewer, Director of Corporate Finance at HGH was approached by his client after they wanted to consider exit options for their Yorkshire-based dental practice. The practice served both private and NHS clients however the NHS contract was legally contracted to one of the owners, not the business. For this reason, Mark and the HGH Corporate Finance team needed to prepare and restructure the business for any potential future sale.
Mark and the HGH team began by selling the NHS contract owned by one of the owners back to the business. Once completed, they discussed exit options including trade buyers, professional investors and other dentists. The client had an existing relationship with two dentists who proved to be the best fit for the practice.
With the business restructured by HGH into a ‘saleable’ asset, the transaction was completed smoothly providing an exit for the shareholders.
