Knill James, a member of The Corporate Finance Network based in Lewes, East Sussex, has advised a Financial Services company on its sale a local firm in South East England.
The Knill James corporate finance team were asked for assistance when the owners of an Independent Financial Advisers (IFA) firm decided to explore options for exiting the business. One of the most important aspects for the vendor was ensuring their long standing clients would be well looked after following their exit and they were keen to avoid a sale to one of the large consolidators in the industry.
Finding the best cultural fit for the shareholders was a primary focus of their search for a buyer while also ensuring their expectations in terms of value were met.
Kirsty Wilson (pictured), Corporate Finance Director at Knill James led the deal from finding the right buyer to negotiating the eventual purchase price and liaising with solicitors throughout. Over the course of the transaction Kirsty and her clients met with many interested parties, with the preferred buyer being a successful, growing IFA firm local to their clients in the South East.
The sale of 100% of the share capital of the company successfully completed on the 30 September. Their clients will continue their involvement in the business for a handover period and look forward to working with the new shareholders to ensure their clients continue to receive the great service to which they are accustomed.
